Vacancy for an Age Grade Representative Chair with Somerset RFU

The Age Grade Representative Chair will hold a position on the SCRFU Management Committee and Governance & Finance Committee, attending meetings for both. They will also be expected to be a member of the East and West (RPDG) Regional Pathway Development Group Committees and attend all relevant meetings.

The post holder will be responsible for the organisation and monitoring of age grade representative rugby at all levels within the county.

Clevedon RFC

Clevedon RFC, currently playing in Western Counties (North) is looking for a new head coach for the 2020/21 season against the following criteria.

Role and responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare and deliver individual coaching sessions for the Clubs 1st & 2nd XV squads where appropriate;
  • Ensure that all sessions are designed to develop the skills and understanding of the players in your squad;
  • Attend selection committee as required;
  • Attend all coaching sessions, matches involved with the Clubs 1st team squad;
  • Mentor and advise assistant coaches and players where appropriate;
  • Evaluate all coaching sessions and games with the coaching team and players;
  • Delegation – the senior men’s coach needs to be able to delegate agreed responsibilities to the wider coaching team to ensure that they feel valued and their expertise is used effectively;
  • Attend and embrace all England Rugby development opportunities within reason to continue and enhance self-improvement;
  • Create and implement a recruitment program;
  • Lead on the transition and retention of Colts to Senior XV rugby;
  • Manage the process of reconnection with previous colts who graduate from University with a view of returning to play at Clevedon RFC.

Key skills and attributes

  • Level 2 coaching qualification (minimum) relevant experience in coaching senior men;
  • Excellent communication and people management skills (Essential)

This will be a remunerated role, which will be discussed at Interview stage.
